On the wild side

Tired of doing the same old thing every weekend? Spice things up a bit and enjoy a fun eco drive at the picturesque Thaba Eco Hotel and Spa nestled in the Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve.

The eco drive offers guests a unique bushveld experience in Johannesburg South, complete with hills, grasslands and indigenous trees as well as wildlife such as zebra, blesbok, impala, wildebeest and springbok.
This tranquil habitat also provides the ideal environment to observe an incredible array of local bird life who have made the reserve at Thaba their home. If you are an avid bird watcher then you will not be disappointed. Whether you choose to walk or opt for a game drive, you will have the opportunity to view some of the Highveld’s most treasured bird species.

Leave cooking chores at home as Kraal Kombuis is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner where there are more than enough options to choose from. Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy the breath-taking view by having a picnic in one of the designated picnic areas. Adults can choose between four different picnic baskets filled with delicious treats. What’s even better is that there is a basket specially made up for children to enjoy, so you won’t have to worry about a thing.

An added bonus:
Thaba Eco Hotel is also home to Thaba Trails, which offers a safe, varied trail network to enjoy mountain bike riding. The park has been planned carefully to provide an exciting outdoor experience for all adventure sports enthusiasts. It caters for everyone – from those getting into the lifestyle with their families, to those who are driven by personal performance.
Every one of the three routes has been carved to perfection. The yellow route is suitable for beginners and those who want to enjoy a fun ride. The green route is an anti-clockwise 15km trail no technical challenge for the experienced riders. It is considered a good training ride for those riders who are training for marathons. The blue route has a total distance of 30km and is considered very technical and not suitable for inexperienced riders.
