Popular Super Sokkie – at the Super Bowl for the first time
Dust off your dancing shoes and book your place now for the biggest ever Super Sokkie at Sun City. South African pop icon, Kurt Darren beefs up his popular Super Sokkie party to a weekend long affair at the legendary North West resort from October 6 to 8.
True to form, the Super Sokkie will see some of the greatest names in Afrikaans music collaborating for the hip swaying, toe tapping party at the Sun City Super Bowl. On the bill for the event are Kurt Darren, Die Campbells, Jay, Snotkop, Leah and Jennifer Zamudio.
The Super Sokkie Weekend kicks off with a beach party at the sun drenched Valley of Waves on Friday, October 6. The crowd will be entertained by Die Campbells and other special guest artists. The beach party is an exciting prelude to the main Super Sokkie event at the Super Bowl on the Saturday night. With seating removed, the expansive Super Bowl will be transformed into the country’s biggest sokkie dance floor. Revelers will be invited to take to the floor and be emerged in the Super Sokkie while the artists treat them to a stomping party featuring their popular hits. With songs like “Kaptein”, “Twee”, “Koel soos Koos Kombuis”, “Rooi rok bokkie” and “Dans op die tafels” booming, partygoers will need little persuading to get up and dance.
“Super Sokkie is a wildly popular event that has been staged regularly other Sun International venues across the country with tremendous success. Now it is time to bring this the Super Sokkie to Sun City and make it bigger and better than ever. There are only 3 000 tickets available so music fans are urged to book sooner rather than later,” says Darren.
