Get all jazzed up with Mi Casa and Stimela
SAMA Award-winning sensation, Mi Casa, and renowned Afro-Fusion group, Stimela, will round off the year in style as they headline the final 2017 Ekurhuleni Comes Alive Jazz Evening on December 8, at The Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg.
Fittingly, the December line-up features two prominent local bands; representing a taste of the 70’s and modern hits. Stimela’s collective sounds, founded by the late Ray Phiri in the 1970’s, are symbolic of a new South Africa. Bringing modern flair to the evening and needing little introduction is Mi Casa, known for their deep, soulful house with elements of urban jazz music.
Supporting these industry giants is gospel songstress and Idols Season 10 runner-up, Mmatema Moremi.
Opening the evening is upcoming, local hip hop artist Tumi Tladi. No stranger to the music industry, Tladi is the son of Peter Tladi, founder of the Joy of Jazz Festival. Having established a background in choreography and dance, Tladi is known for his energetic performances on stage and together with the calibre of performances expected from Mi Casa, Stimela and Mmatema Moremi, the evening promises to be one for the history books of Birchwood.
Resident MC Hector Motivator, along with comedians’ Elton Mduduzi and Smowkey Nyembe will be providing laughter throughout the evening.
The December Ekurhuleni Comes Alive Jazz Evening will take place on Friday, December 8, at The Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre.
The show will start at 8pm sharp.
