From brilliant film-maker Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy) comes the compelling war epic Dunkirk.
The story unfolds on land, sea and air as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, with enemy troops closing in.
RAF Spitfires engage the enemy in the skies above the Channel, trying to protect the defenceless men below.
Meanwhile, hundreds of small boats manned by both military officers and civilians are mounting a desperate rescue effort, risking their lives in a race against time to save even a fraction of their army.
Dunkirk is a powerful film and features a stellar cast, including Kenneth Branagh, Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Barry Keoghan, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Tom Hardy.
Since its release, Dunkirk has been hailed by critics as one of the greatest war films ever made and has been credited for its historical accuracy.
As one of the most influential contemporary film-makers of his generation, Nolan appears to be challenging himself with every project he undertakes and his latest offering is a tour de force and certainly one of his finest films to date.
Dunkirk is now available on DVD.
